On Gosainkund trekking takes you to high East Laurabinaya-La or Gosainkund Pass at above  4,609 m and 15,100 ft high to reach Kathmandu via Helambu route walking past Thade-Pati-Kutumsang and at scenic viewpoint hill of Chisapani offers stunning sunrise views over the chain of Himalayan peaks.

Other interesting walks around Langtang Himal visiting Tamang Heritage Trail, which is off the main trekking trails exploring local immense culture heading close near Tibet border then back to Kathmandu.

Several adventurous journeys are via high Ganja-la pass to reach from Langtang valley to Helambu village and Tilman Col where the adventure leads you at the end of Langtang valley to cross high Tilman col a pass over a high ridge reaching at Panch Pokhari (five ponds) and back to Kathmandu.

 

Culture and Religion:

 

Mainly dominated by Tamang tribes of hill people descendent from inner Mongolia and Tibet some more than thousands years ago, and settled on the hills of Langtang and other Himalaya range of Nepal, bringing them their early ancient culture of Bon sect, a pre-Buddhism as well with present Mayana a Tibet Buddhism religions with similar culture and heritage with Tibet.

 

Climate:

 

Like all Himalaya region Langtang Himal with similar Himalayan weather pattern due to its remoteness and isolation, where trekking and mountaineering take place from March onward to May and from September to November months.

 

For moderate short treks can visit all year round except wet-months of June to August within monsoon season, Due to arctic temperatures where villagers migrate to lower warmer areas in winter times, during March to May pleasant walking days with temperatures of maximum 20°-25° Celsius with minimum from -0° to + 5° especially morning and night times, without wind-chill factors. Daytime is pleasant for walking with clear views of mountains till mid-afternoon, can get cloudy in the late afternoon.

 

March to May around mid hills when wildflowers are in full bloom especially rhododendron (Nepal national flower), September to December where the day is clear with blue sky and starry nights, can be freezing cold with chances of snow and short daylights during pre-autumn to end of autumn/fall season.
