6 Days Everest View Trek Itinerary:
Day 01: Kathmandu City tour
Day 02: Kathmandu to Lukla (2840m) by air and trek to Phakding. 2610m (2/3 hrs)
Day 03: Trek from Phakding to Namche Bazaar. 3440m (5/6 hrs)
Day 04: Hike early morning to Everest viewpoint (3800m) then back to Namche Bazaar (3/4 hrs)
Day 05: Trek from Namche Bazaar to Lukla. 2840m (6/7 hrs)
Day 06: Lukla to Kathmandu by Air and transfer to hotel.
Day 01: Kathmandu City tour
Our first day of 6 Days Everest View Trek Itinerary starts by exploring Kathmandu’s ancient cultural and historical heritage. A sightseeing tour will cover UNESCO World Heritage sites, including the Buddhist stupas of Swayambhunath (Monkey Temple) and Boudhanath, which reflect traditional Buddhist values. The sacred Pashupatinath Temple is also on the list. Additionally, the historical Durbar Squares in Kathmandu, Bhaktapur, and Patan feature unique temples and intricate carvings.
Similarly, a pre-trip meeting with the trekking guide will be organized. It will provide essential information about the upcoming trek and allow participants to ask queries related to the trek. Overnight stay will be in Kathmandu.
Day 02: Kathmandu to Lukla by air and trek to Phakding
An exhilarating trek in the iconic Everest region starts with a breathtaking flight to Lukla. As we soar above, the panoramic views of majestic Himalayas, verdant valleys, terraced fields, and winding rivers unfold beneath us, leading us to the Tenzing-Hillary Airport in Lukla.
Our adventure kicks off with stunning vistas of the Nubur Himal and Phari Peak as we set our course for Phakding village. The trail is a delightful mix of ascents and descents, guiding us past ancient Mani walls, prayer stones, and charming settlements. Each step brings us closer to Thado Koshi village, where the striking Kusum-Kangaru Peak greets us.
Accompanied by the ever-present Dudh Koshi River, we traverse several suspension bridges adorned with prayer wheels. The lush vegetation and towering mountains create a breathtaking backdrop as we make our way to Phakding.
Tonight, we’ll rest in this quaint village, reflecting on the day’s wonders and anticipating the adventures that lie ahead.
Day 03: Trek from Phakding to Namche Bazaar
Today promises an exciting adventure as we trek towards Namche Bazaar, the gateway to Everest. Our journey begins with a gentle uphill path, where we navigate through a trail sprinkled with gravel and stones. Keep an eye out for yaks and locals passing by in the vibrant forests of rhododendrons and magnolias, all while enjoying stunning views of the majestic mountains.
After a couple of hours, we’ll arrive at Monjo, the entrance to Sagarmatha National Park, and then continue to Jorsale. As we progress, we’ll encounter the renowned Khumbu River, originating from the famous Khumbu Glacier. Crossing it on a suspension bridge might give you a thrill, especially with views of Tabuche Mountain in the distance.
The trail features several switchbacks, leading us to a final steep ascent before reaching Namche Bazaar. As we approach, a viewpoint will reveal our first glimpse of Everest, adding to the excitement of our trek. Finally, we’ll arrive at Namche Bazaar, where our day’s adventure concludes.
Tonight, we’ll settle in for an overnight stay in this bustling Sherpa village.
Day 04: Hike early morning to Everest viewpoint then back to Namche Bazaar
Today, we have an exciting adventure planned as we hike to the Everest Viewpoint, where we’ll be treated to stunning views of Mt. Everest and the beautiful Ama Dablam. We’ll start early to catch the magnificent Himalayan sunrise before the clouds roll in, allowing us to enjoy breathtaking vistas of Everest, Lhotse, and the lush valleys surrounding us.
On our descent, we’ll visit the Sherpa Museum, which showcases traditional Sherpa lifestyles, local flora and fauna, and the history of mountaineering. The museum also features captivating photography by a local naturalist, enriching our exploration around Namche.
After a day filled with awe-inspiring sights and cultural insights, we’ll return to Namche Bazaar for an overnight stay, reflecting on the incredible experiences we’ve gathered.
Day 05: Trek from Namche Bazaar to Lukla
Our trek today marks the conclusion of our enriching journey in the Everest region as we make our way back to Lukla from Namche Bazaar. The trail takes us across high suspension bridges and along the confluence of the Dudh Koshi and Bhote Koshi Rivers near Larja Dobhan, leading us through the gateway of Sagarmatha National Park at Monjo.
As we trek, we’ll pass through dense forests filled with diverse vegetation, alongside Mani stones and prayer wheels. Along the way, we’ll encounter summer settlements and viewpoints that offer opportunities to marvel at the stunning landscape and engage with local cultures.
Upon reaching Lukla, we’ll pack our bags in preparation for tomorrow’s flight back to Kathmandu.
Tonight, we’ll enjoy our final evening in this vibrant town, reflecting on the incredible experiences we’ve shared throughout our trek.
Day 06: Lukla to Kathmandu by Air and transfer to hotel.
Today marks the conclusion of our incredible trek in the Everest region, but we still have a couple of days to enjoy. We’ll start with our usual yoga and meditation session before heading out early to catch a scenic flight back to Kathmandu.
After checking in at the airport, we’ll embark on a short flight that offers mesmerizing views, reminiscent of our journey to Lukla. Upon landing at Tribhuwan International Airport, we’ll be transferred to our hotel.
The rest of the day is yours to explore the vibrant city of Kathmandu, engage in various activities, or simply relax. We’ll end the day with a restful sleep at our hotel, reflecting on the unforgettable experiences from our trek.
