Overview:
Our 13 days Tamang Heritage Trek starts off with an enriching tour of UNESCO World Heritage Sites inside Kathmandu city. The next day, we take a scenic drive towards a peaceful western village of Syaprubesi. We take our first steps inside Langtang region from this point onward and continue heading to our next destination. Moving ahead from the village of Syabrubesi, we traverse through the villages of Goljung, Gatlang, Thuman, Timure and Briddim, Lama Hotel, Langtang village and Kyanjin Gompa. Before ultimately ending to our trek in Syaprubesi and then take a drive back to Kathmandu.
Exploring through the local Tamang monastery and serene lake at Gatlang, natural healer of hot spring at Tatopani, home stay facility at Briddim along with warm hospitality of Tamang community, we reach the Langtang village past the Lama Hotel. The narrow lush valley at Langtang displays exceptional cultural diversity and well-preserved ensembles of their rich traditional heritage. We trail back through the initial route to call it a day at Syaprubesi. En route the short trek, we savor the Tamang rituals, Tibetan superstitions, colorful festivals, local dances and costumes, Tibetan influenced architecture, local made handicrafts and unique flora and fauna, alpine terrains, lush green dales and rhododendron forest with the silver mountains shining in the background.
This is an ideal yet interesting trek which follows a breathtaking route in the gentle elevations of Langtang region. It’s suitable for trekkers who wish to trek with their family and children. But having a reasonably fit body and mind will be an added advantage. With no technical skill required, this trek is sure to give you a lifelong memory in just 15 days.

We (Nelly and Keet) had the pleasure of Luxury Holiday Treks organising our Langtang trek over very short notice (one day). They gave us valuable information on weather conditions and what to pack for the 7 days return trip. I recommend the excellent Raju who help us navigate throught all the administrative permits and guest houses. He also help us reached Kyanjin Ri even though we were already very tired. Upper Langtang is very beautiful and well worth it.
