“Join the fabulous Helambu Trek and travel through the verdant Langtang region on an exotic terrain.”

Helambu Trek is a short trek that focuses on taking you inside the serene and peaceful trails of Langtang region. Most of the trek route has enthralling waterfalls, scenic rhododendron forest and striking community villages. You can expect to see rural lifestyle, terraced fields, domesticated animals and thriving wildlife throughout your trek. Besides that, trekkers can also get mind blowing views of Mt. Langtang, Dorje Lakpa, Lirung and Mt. Shisapangma of northern Tibet. All in all, this makes the journey even more fun for trekkers who chose to do this trek.

Overview:

Our trek starts from the small dam and hydroelectric station of Sundarijal after going on a sightseeing tour around Kathmandu. During which, we plan on visiting Swayambhunath, Boudhanath, Pashupatinath and Kathmandu Durbar Square. Upon driving north-east to Sundarijal, we climb up along the stone steps onto the Shivapuri ridges. While continuing uphill and through the Shivapuri Nagarjun National Park, we can enjoy stunning presence of waterfalls and forests. Soon after that, we will reach Chisopani which serves as a resting point for travelers and tourists. Moving forward along our trail, we pass through the villages of Kutumsang, Thadepati and Tarkeghyang.

Home of the Hyolmo people, this trekking trail offers everything from breathtaking views, lovely towns, friendly people and cultural diversity. Suitable for trekking with family as well, this trek provides you the opportunity to experience a perfect blend of nature and culture without reaching high altitude. And that’s because the maximum altitude of our trek lies around 3700m. At the end our trek, we move to Sermanthang village before reaching Melamchi Pul Bazaar in the Helambu region. From there, we plan on driving back to Kathmandu to mark the end of our trip.

In the trip, we pass through the wet sub-tropical forest to the oak forest and numerous scattered rural villages. Along with that, we get to see impressive Buddhist monasteries where monks practice and chant their prayers. Furthermore, our trek doesn’t require any kind of previous trekking experience. Just having a fit body with ability to walk for hours will be enough for the trek.
