Langtang Trekking

Langtang Trekking is one of the easily accessible trekking regions in the Langtang region, to the north of Kathmandu, which provides a multitude of trekking destinations. Even without the celebrated eight-thousanders in the vicinity (except the Shisha Pangma, across the border in Tibet), the base-to-peak rises is as marvelous as in the other regions of Nepal. Langtang Trekking is one of the beautiful and lively trekking destinations in the Langtang region. Generally started from Syaphrubesi, Langtang Trekking explores the gorges, dense and rich forests of rhododendron and oaks, moraines, culturally rich villages, monasteries (including the Kyanjin Gompa) and cheese factory, Langtang Glacier, the majestic peaks of Kyanjin Ri and Tsergo Ri and valley of Helambu. Lama Hotel or Ghortabela is another popular overnight stay in the trekking trail.

Besides the Langtang Trekking, Langtang-Gosaikunda Trek is another popular trekking destination on the region. It traverses through the mossy rhododendron forests, monastery and cheese factory at Sing Gompa (3250m), demanding climb to Dhunche, marvelous stoppage at Laurebinayak, series of lakes that decorates the region as the beads, the star destination of Gosaikunda Lake (one of the most sacred lake believed to be created by Lord Shiva and thereby a pilgrimage place), the demanding Laurabina La(4610m) pass, several beautiful settlements along the trail, Kutumsang village (a Sherpa village and the location of Langtang National Park), hilly stoppage points of Chisapani, a celebrated viewpoint beyond the northern edge of Shivapuri National Park are the highlights of the trekking trail.
Helambu Trekking and Tamang Heritage Trek are the other celebrated trekking destinations in the Langtang region besides the aforementioned trails. While Helambu Trekking takes you to the Helambu region (once hidden and sacred region) with fertile valleys (dominated by Sherpa community that follows Buddhism in the upper region and followers of Hinduism), Tamang Heritage Trek wanders through the villages that displays the unique culture and traditions of the indigenous Tamang community. Both these trails explore the rich natural heritages of the region, while catering to the customized need of the trekkers for each of these trekking destinations in the Langtang region.
