Join the fabulous Helambu Trek located in the Langtang region close to the Kathmandu valley. A short trek, it remains relatively unspoiled and offers the trekkers with beautiful waterfalls, forests of rhododendron and bamboo, the lush hilly vegetation, view of the snow-capped mountains including Langtang, Dorje Lakpa, Lirung and the Shisapangma mountain of Tibet along with the surrounding peaks and monasteries. Home of the Hyolmo people, this trekking trail takes the trekkers to explore the cultural diversity, traditional values, norms and customs, along with their lifestyles. Suitable for trekking with family as well, Helambu Trek provides the opportunity to experience the scenic, natural, cultural, floral and fauna richness without reaching much higher altitude, the maximum altitude being around 3700m.

Helambu Trek starts from the small dam and hydroelectric station of Sundarijal after the city tour of architectural and cultural heritages in Kathmandu. We explore the culturally vibrant capital city to the architectural masterpieces and holy shrines of Hindu Temple Pashupatinath, Buddhist shrines of Baudhanath and Swayambhunath Stupa as well as excellent architectures in the Patan Durbar Square. Then we drive to Sundarijal to the north-east corner of Kathmandu valley for the start of our trekking experience. The trail, beginning from the west of Sundarijal, climbs along the stone steps onto the Shivapuri ridges while continuing uphill and through the Shivapuri National Park before reaching the settlement in Chisopani. Moving forward along the trail of Helambu Trek, we pass through the Kutumsang, Thadepati and Tarkeghyang villages. We take on the footpath through Sermathang village before we reach the Melamchi Pul Bazzar in the Helambu region. From there we drive back to Kathmandu to mark the end of our trip. In the trip, we pass through the wet sub-tropical forest to the oak forest, scattered Tamang villages, watershed, research areas, rice terraces and impressive Buddhist monasteries.

Helambu Trek requires no previous trekking experience yet provides spectacular mountain views along with the floral and faunal diversity and interaction with the locals for insider’s insight into the culture of the locals. Join with Luxury Holiday Trek for a short yet enriched trekking experience with your family.
